Marketing Operations Manager

We have a fabulous new role for an experienced marketer to join a busy, friendly marketing team at a London based scientific membership organisation. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for maximising journals subscriptions and promoting their books lists. The organisation is looking to increase subscriber engagement with Open Access journal articles and raise awareness of key publishing initiatives through press releases and other marketing activities.
This is an exciting and varied role for someone with experience within academic publishing and some of the key responsibilities will involve:
- Delivering marketing campaigns to achieve success metrics and conducting campaigns to increase uptake and usage of paid Open Access articles
- Maintaining the company’s website content and third-party platforms
- Publicising the books portfolio to generate sales
- Curating data feeds on books portfolio
- Line managing a Sales & Marketing Assistant
- Managing and working within agreed budget
The successful person will ideally have proven marketing experience from an academic/STM journal or book publishing background with a knowledge of Open Access publishing. You will have some experience with analytics to measure and understand results of activities and have experience with various marketing systems and technologies. You will have great organisation and time management skills and the ability to line manage a more junior member of staff. You might be a Marketing Manager at present, looking for a new challenge, or a Senior Marketing Executive looking for more responsibility with the opportunity to line manage.
