A professional publisher of expert content and marketing material for financial services and accountants is looking for an experienced Editorial Manager to work on high value contracts with their partners at the heart of financial services. The role sits within a small in-house contract publishing team and is a maternity cover for a 12-month contract. The team are currently working from home due to Covid restrictions but hope to start returning to the office in August/September with flexible working arrangements

As Editorial Manager you will be responsible for delivering exam study texts, learning materials, and continuing professional development (CPD) content to high quality standards, as well as managing multiple concurrent long form content projects from initiation to sign off, including copy-editing, online typesetting and proofing.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Planning and scheduling publishing projects; liaising with authors and other contributors and ensuring assigned texts and CPD modules are delivered to agreed schedules and budget.
  • Copyedit, typeset and proofread study texts and CPD modules
  • Maintain the high quality of authors commissions to work on the content, reviewing submitted copy against the syllabi or the customer requirements.
  • Work with principal client contacts and colleagues, as well as a range of internal and external technical writers, technical checkers and other experts to maintain content quality.

The successful person will have proven relevant experience from a professional, academic, educational or legal publishing environment having worked on both print and online projects. You will have strong editorial and project management skills with the ability to actively engage with content and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, on time and house style. You will have experience of project managing, commissioning and scheduling long-form content projects, with excellent copyediting and proofreading skills.
