Area Sales Manager - UK
SALARY: ON APPLICATION + BONUS
LOCATION: REMOTE OR HYBRID
We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to join the Journals team of a leading global publisher of high quality, peer reviewed books and journals. This is a fantastic opportunity for a successful sales manager looking for a new challenge in a role that combines effective team management whilst retaining a core focus on sales activities in the UK. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will manage a team of Sales Execs/Associates as well as contributing to department strategy. You will also be responsible for achieving your annual territory sales targets through sustainable and consultative account management. This position can be worked remotely in the UK or alternatively, can be a hybrid mix of office and remote working.
• Managing, guiding and mentoring a team of 2-3 sales and support executives
• Planning, scheduling and carrying out regular sales visits to customers
• Reporting periodically to the Head of Sales on sales progress
• Collecting and disseminating market, competitor, and customer feedback, including passing on leads
• Contributing to sales meetings and events
Candidates must have previous demonstrable experience of working within the academic publishing sector, in addition to experience of team management. With excellent negotiation and presentation skills; strong decision-making and analytical skills, you will have a sound knowledge of the academic publishing sector and a good understanding of the open research landscape. Able to work independently, you will also know when you need to delegate tasks to your team.
