Editor – Membership Organisation

We have an interesting and varied opportunity to work for a professional membership Body providing qualifications, training and guidance. Based in London and working as part of the wider team, the Editor will support the Digital Publishing Manager in delivering high quality products, essential to the heart of the organisation.   Working closely with the Digital Publishing manager the Editor will help deliver the publishing programme, including platform, tools for content authoring and management, and will also produce quality content in a range of digital formats, including professional books, technical guidance, research and consultation papers, study materials and the organisation’s online knowledge service.

The Editor will also provide strong project management across a variety of digital and print products ensuring that projects run smoothly from manuscript to final delivery.   The editor will also check incoming work from authors and freelancers and will work closely with the Qualifications team on the production of learning materials for students.

You will provide general editorial support, including in-house copy editing and proofreading, and work with internal colleagues to ensure that projects are in the system and work is placed appropriately and production and completion dates are agreed.

This is an interesting and varied editorial role requiring strong people skills and the successful person will be degree level educated and will have strong editorial experience, (preferably academic, technical or professional publishing) including a strong understanding of delivering content to professional and technical audiences, particularly within a digital environment.

You will be IT literate with a firm understanding of the publishing processes for both digital and print, and excellent editorial and project management skills with the ability top deliver multiple projects to deadlines.

This is a new role which has the potential to develop and grow.
