Application Forms
Many vacancies, especially for graduate positions or those based in the public sector, will require you to complete an application form. Although, for the applicant, completing multiple forms can be something of a chore, the employer can demonstrate an evidence trail to show how and why an appointment was made. It also allows them to filter large volumes of applications in a systematic manner.
All application forms are designed to screen out, as well as in, you should care fully follow all of the guidelines set out on the form. If the form asks for examples of skills and competencies, try to consider the examples you use in the context of the position you are applying for.
If you are invited for an interview, take your form with you and make sure you are completely familiar with all of your answers as it is likely to form the basis for any questions an interviewer or panel will have.
